Manor Road Coaltion

Our Values.

  • One Corridor, Many Voices. Uniting five distinct neighborhoods with a shared goal of smart development, walkability, shared green spaces and community events, Manor Road Coalition focuses on bridging our community together through advocacy, inclusive design, and local partnerships. Together, we’re creating a more cohesive, accessible, and vibrant place to live, move, and gather.

  • We celebrate and support existing businesses—especially locally owned—and advocate for preserving them in place. When displacement occurs, we promote the right to return and remain rooted in the corridor.

  • The Coalition expects landowners and developers pursuing rezoning or site plan to proactively engage with both impacted neighborhoods and the Coalition before submitting applications. Early collaboration should align with the Corridor’s Vision Goals to ensure thoughtful, community-centered development.

  • We support both the preservation of existing naturally occurring affordable housing and the development of new, neighborhood-compatible multi-family homes that serve a range of incomes and household types. Our focus includes deep affordability at 40% MFI and partnerships with local properties to secure housing discounts for Manor Road employees.

  • We are committed to creating and sustaining vibrant, functional green spaces throughout the corridor, while promoting stormwater management practices that go beyond minimum code requirements.

  • As a Coalition, we ensure that new businesses and commercial development on the corridor are neighborhood-appropriate, neighborhood-scaled, and serve the nearby neighborhoods.

  • We celebrate local culture and art through advocacy for murals, support for artists, and community events that reflect the rich histories and stories of our residents and businesses. We create spaces where people of all ages, backgrounds, and neighborhoods can come together. We believe public art and shared celebration are powerful tools for connection—and that knowing your neighbors includes knowing their stories.

  • We believe in sharing and preserving the corridor’s rich history and unique identity. We are currently working to create a written history and place-making signs throughout Manor Road to share that history with residents and visitors.
